Description:
I originally called this “Tied up at the dock.” Having learned that these boats are called “punts,” it seemed appropriate to work that word into the title. Also, I received suggestions about renaming the painting to capture the mood of calmness/serenity/end of day that is evoked by this piece. Hence, the name “Punts at Rest.” Rowboat is too blasé a term, and these are not dories. Punts they are, and they are at rest.
