Description:
This 3-headed behemoth of an iceberg showed up in Ferryland, Newfoundland prior to the Easter holiday. It resulted in news headlines that went around the world. On Easter Sunday, I took dozens of photos of it, and settled on this view that showed all thee of its peaks behind the houses.
Since it was still early spring with snow around, the image was somewhat bland with beige to white grass. I made the grass green to liven it up. I was tempted to leave out the utility poles, but then I thought they make a statement about the fragility of human invention against the forces of nature. And so I left them in to stand like weak toothpicks against the potentially menacing force of this iceberg.
“Behemoth” was an alternative title, but I preferred “Triumvirate” as soon as it came to mind.
