This lonely reflected wharf is another scene from Bay Bulls, a fishing community south of St. John’s, Newfoundland. It is currently the launch point of many iceberg and whale-watching tours for visitors to St. John’s.

I took the reference photo ten years ago and have always wondered whether it was enough for a painting. I was recently persuaded that I should paint it, and I’m glad that I did. It turned out lovely.
