Description:
That’s an old stationary engine manufactured by Fairbanks Morse in the foreground; it was used to generate power for a mill in Battle Harbour, Labrador. It’s certainly seen better days but it’s quite colorful now with the old chipped paint and rust. I started this painting without knowing what that wheeled device was, but I eventually figured it out. My thanks to Leslie Rourke for allowing me to use another of her photographs as a reference.
