Description:
The harness and reins have now been added in. Painting the harness last helped to ensure that it appeared to be on top of and distinct from the horse – ie that the proper three-dimensional aspect was maintained between harness and hide. I’ve also added a bit more colour to the otherwise white fence.

Overall, the four photos indicate the four sessions that this painting was completed in – background, fence post, horse, and lastly the harness and reins.
