Description:
This is Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse, in the town of Rocky Harbour, which itself is within Gros Morne National Park. Construction of the lighthouse began in 1897, and the light was activated in the spring of 1898. It marks the entrance to Bonne Bay. As with most lighthouses it is now automated, but the keeper’s house is now an interpretive museum with original artifacts, documents, and photographs. It’s a lovely spot to watch the sunset, or whales and dolphins cavorting in the ocean.
I took the reference photos for this one several summers ago.
