Description:
This scene is in Petty Harbour, a small community of almost 1,000 people, located about 20 minutes outside St. John’s, Newfoundland. It’s an active fishing village (cod, shrimp, crab) as well as a tourist destination with good restaurants, accommodations, sights, and activities.
I’m not a boater but scenes of watercraft and their reflections are a magnet to my artistic eye. This one had such a rich deep blue of water contrasting with the whites, yellows, and reds, plus the sheen on the surface of the water. The lens in the title refers to the light reflecting and refracting on the bright hull of the boat (it was almost too bright to look at), as well as the unexpected sight of another photographer’s lens inadvertently floating in the harbor.
