Description:
It’s my wedding day! When I woke up this morning I decided what better way to start the day than in an act of creation, specifically by finishing this painting of two sea turtles? Known as Honu in Hawai’i, these are green sea turtles, and are considered to be symbols of wisdom and good luck. I’ve enjoyed watching them swimming, feeding in the water, surfacing for air, and diving again. Others will lazily bask in the hot sun, cooking themselves on the lava rocks that line the shore.
I’ve enjoyed painting sea turtles before in Majestic Honu and Hawaiian Snorkle, but I wanted to do another. Over the last couple of days, I started to think that the pair could represent my fiancée Lisa and me. Two inseparable, devoted companions doing everything together.
I took the reference photos with my underwater camera in Hawai’i.
And now it’s time to get prepared for the wedding this evening!
